At Babylon Inc, we take your privacy seriously. MoodLift is designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how MoodLift handles your information and protects your privacy.

Information Storage

Local Data Storage

MoodLift uses Apple's SwiftData framework to store the following information locally on your device:

• Session Records: Anonymous records of when you used the app, including emotional intensity ratings, selected triggers, chosen coping strategies, and session duration
• User Progress: Aggregated statistics about your app usage patterns to show you trends over time
• App Preferences: Your settings and preferences for how the app functions

Widget Data Sharing

If you use the MoodLift home screen widget, the app shares minimal data between the main app and widget using Apple's App Groups feature. This data sharing occurs only on your device and includes only the information necessary for the widget to function (such as displaying recent session counts). No data leaves your device.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Detailed session content or personal notes
• Health data integrated with HealthKit
• Contacts or photos
• Analytics or usage statistics transmitted to us
• Crash reports (unless you explicitly choose to send them through iOS)

AI-Powered Features

When you use MoodLift's AI-guided sessions, your conversation data is processed through third-party AI service providers to generate personalized responses. This includes:

• Your responses to diagnostic questions
• Conversation exchanges during the session
• Emotional state information you provide

This data is transmitted securely to our AI service provider's servers for processing. The service provider processes this data solely to generate responses and does not create persistent user profiles or share your data with other parties.

What We Do NOT Do

• Store your conversations on our servers
• Create user accounts linked to your identity
• Share your data for advertising or marketing purposes
• Link your data to personal identifiers

Your session history and progress tracking remain stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Data Processing Details

Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit

MoodLift uses Apple's StoreKit framework for subscription management. When you purchase or manage a subscription, Apple processes the transaction according to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your payment information.

AI Service Providers

MoodLift uses third-party AI service providers to power the AI-guided sessions. These providers process conversation data to generate therapeutic responses but do not store your data long-term or use it for other purposes.

No Analytics or Advertising

MoodLift does not integrate with any analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers. We do not track your usage patterns or sell your data. The only external services used are for AI conversation processing during active sessions.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• Device Security: All data is stored in the iOS secure sandbox using Apple's SwiftData encryption
• No Cloud Sync: Data never leaves your device, eliminating risks associated with cloud storage
• iOS Protections: Data is protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
• App Sandbox: The app cannot access data from other apps, and other apps cannot access MoodLift data

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Delete the app to permanently remove all data
• Individual session records can be deleted within the app
• Your data is automatically removed when you delete the app from your device

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to MoodLift Premium, Apple manages your subscription according to their privacy policy. We receive only the minimum information necessary to verify your subscription status (a transaction identifier), but we do not receive your name, email, or payment details.

Children's Privacy

MoodLift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us, though note that we have no way to identify individual users given our privacy-first approach.

International Users

Since MoodLift stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit data to our servers, international data transfer laws do not apply. Your data stays in your physical location on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, if changes are significant, we will provide notice through the app or on our website. Your continued use of MoodLift after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

Under various privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have rights regarding your personal data. Since MoodLift does not collect or store your personal data on our servers:

• Right to Access: All your data is accessible within the app on your device
• Right to Deletion: Delete the app to remove all data
• Right to Portability: Your data stays on your device and is not in a portable format
• Right to Opt-Out: Not applicable as we don't collect data
