Getting Started

What is MoodLift?
MoodLift is an evidence-based mental health support app that guides you through emotional regulation using proven CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) techniques. It helps you navigate difficult emotions with structured, professional-grade therapeutic tools.
How do I start using MoodLift?
Simply download the app from the App Store, open it, and follow the onboarding process. You'll be introduced to the app's features and can start your first session immediately. No account creation or personal information required.
Do I need an internet connection?
No! MoodLift works completely offline. All features are available without an internet connection since all data is stored locally on your device.

Privacy & Security

Is my data private?
Absolutely. MoodLift stores all data exclusively on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. We cannot access your data, and nothing is transmitted to our servers. Your mental health journey is completely private.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, you can delete individual sessions within the app, or delete all data by removing the app from your device. Since everything is stored locally, deleting the app permanently removes all associated data.
Do you track my usage?
No. We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, or any information about how you use the app. Your sessions and patterns remain completely private on your device.

Subscription & Billing

What's included in MoodLift Premium?
MoodLift Premium unlocks advanced features including extended session history, detailed progress analytics, additional therapeutic interventions, and unlimited access to all coping strategies. Basic features remain available for free.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > MoodLift. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. You can request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com or directly through your purchase history in the App Store.
Do subscriptions work on multiple devices?
Yes! Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and works on all iOS devices signed into the same account.

Features & Functionality

What are TIPP skills?
TIPP stands for Temperature, Intense Exercise, Paced Breathing, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation. These are evidence-based techniques from DBT that help rapidly reduce emotional intensity during crisis moments.
How does the widget work?
The MoodLift home screen widget provides quick access to start a session or use emergency calm techniques without opening the app. Add it through your iPhone's widget menu. The widget displays your recent session count but no personal data.
Can I export my data?
Currently, data export is not available. All session data remains on your device for privacy. We're exploring secure export options for future updates.
Is MoodLift a replacement for therapy?
No. MoodLift is designed to complement professional mental health care, not replace it. It provides evidence-based self-help tools, but if you're experiencing severe mental health issues, please consult with a qualified mental health professional.

Technical Support

What iOS version do I need?
MoodLift requires iOS 17.0 or later. We recommend updating to the latest iOS version for the best experience.
The app isn't working correctly. What should I do?
Try these steps: 1) Force close and reopen the app, 2) Restart your device, 3) Check for app updates in the App Store, 4) If issues persist, delete and reinstall the app (note: this will delete your local data).
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Please email us at support@babylon.inc with details about the bug, including your iOS version, device model, and steps to reproduce the issue. Screenshots are helpful!
Can I use MoodLift on iPad?
MoodLift is currently iPhone-only, but it will run on iPad in compatibility mode. A native iPad version is planned for future releases.
